I’ve always had a bit of an obsession with collections, assortments, piles, archives, displays. So it’s no wonder I’m pretty fascinated that there are lots of people on Flickr and other photo-sharing sites showing off the contents of their bags and other containers.

Slightly voyeuristic, getting to see the products some people employ for facial cleaning, nasal injection, and drug consumption; but also fascinating to see the scope of gadgetry, notepads, writing devices, texts & books, as well as containers within the larger container (the bag within the bag), that people carry around with them which is the norm these days. And likewise interesting to see the different methods of layout, where some people are more organized than others who are more mish-mash and chaotic.

This all reminds me of my own work, where for some time now I have been keeping track of the contents of my artist desk drawer, including making photocopies of many of these objects and making facsimilies of them for re-distribution in the world (how is what I work with relevant to the needs and desires of other people, how can we relate?).

However notice no one is carrying an emergency disaster kit. Well, are you ready?
