I stumbled upon both of these videos within minutes of each other and was struck by the stark differences between the two. Pop-out each of them and play them side-by-side if you can.

The first is of Staten Island’s Greenbelt, a nature trail in the middle of NYC’s most outer-borough; the second is of the city of Homs, which prior to the Syrian War had a population of nearly 700k – also to compare Homs is just under 19 sq. miles and the Greenbelt is just under 5 (it’s 3000 acres).
