WordPress is great.

I finally got crackin’ on those changes I mentioned over two weeks ago. Actually, I’ve had these changes in place for over two weeks, but just haven’t gotten around to clicking that left mouse button!

the first incarnation of the blog was an attempt to understand how to setup a database, install the software, and post ‘hello world’. the second incarnation migrated database tables and was the first attempt to really understand how all this flippin’ data is structured and compiled, and to start to generate some consistent content. now is time for the third incarnation. now it’s time to just start throwing data around like it’s no one’s business!

immediate changes appear to be mostly superficial (colour was much-needed and a welcomed addition to the overall display). and indeed surface value is all that has been changed thus far, but the new template and code will allow for the back-end to be updated and expanded (WordPress 2.2 is out now!), and then the real changes should start to filter in.

I apologize if some things in the older posts are dead or not working to their capacity. Although that’s what makes blogs interesting, is that they’re fluid and in real-time, and developed over time, not like printed matter where all 500 copies are identical. here, as time goes on some of the code breaks down, some of it gets ahead of you. and staying on course is half the fun!
