Spotted in a video after Francisco Lindor (Mets) hit a 2-run home run off Tyler Glasnow (Dodgers), the live action cuts to a shot of a hand lifting the guard cover of a pushbutton for the “HR APPLE“:


I suspect the hand/switch clip was prerecorded because there’s very little time between pushing the button and it appearing at the top of its well in the outfield (video below). But the keyed “ENABLE” switch and READY, LAUNCH, HOLD pushbuttons are all pretty incredible – they don’t use a screen-based solution, but a very physical button-switch to activate “we want apple!”
Now I’m curious if there’s a wireless relay or if the entire thing is wired the way it should be.
