It was 2024 and I was a Duolingo subscriber. I was also a WaPo reader. Duolingo was feeling shittier and shittier by the day. Then WaPo published an article – ahh, that’s why. Now, whenever people ask me why I don’t use Duolingo I send them this PDF:
