I appreciate these efforts and I’m sure it will be a great show. However, I also happen to know on good authority that all of these works were stolen, at gunpoint, directly from the artists ‘involved’. This kind of thing is common in the art world of Western Queens where a wild, semi-civilized state still prevails. I would warn those coming to this ‘opening’ from the developed world to dress down and keep their jewelry at home.
Andrea, I saw your paper cut in the NY Times for Mother’s Day and was so intrigued with your work. So I looked you up in the internet and was pleasantly surprised by the range and beauty. I also love the simple way you write, no shadow of arrogance. I am an artist who draws on clay, but I told a friend who does paper cut work to look you up. Please keep me on your list of e-mail respondents.
