A group of engineers, designers, artists, arts spaces and some major art-funding bodies (including the Canada Council for the Arts) are planning to float a banana over the skies of Texas, which its producers describe as ‘an art intervention’. In its concept statement, the ‘Geostationary Banana Over Texas’ team discuss cowboys, paradoxes, dreams and Andy Warhol!
Expected launch date is August 2008. Let’s all hope for the best of this!
(It also reminded me of this Popular Science article from June 2005 about the possibility of the banana going extinct! LoL!!)
