This is an actual photo of the Sun taken by NASA’s Stereo satellite<\/a> on 4 December 2006 (launched late October last year) and captures “the sun’s roiling surface and atmosphere at temperatures around one million Kelvin (1.8 million degrees Fahrenheit)”<\/a> – that’s hot!
