I’ve been out to the Queens Museum of Art (QMA)<\/a> a good number of times. And I always make a point to check out their NYC Panorama<\/a>, which is by far the most-intriguing map-oriented works (prior to the launch of Google Earth<\/a>, that is) I’ve ever seen. However I don’t think I ever noticed that one way to view the work is through these porthole-like windows (south of Staten Island?) that very much resemble a low-flight aerial view. I love it. The experience sort of re-wrote and extended my perception of the panorama; and I highly recommend everybody visit the QMA, it’s one of the best (and consistent) museums I’ve ever attended – the current exhibition, Queens International 2006<\/a>, an exhibition by diverse (Queens has the most languages spoken of any region in the world!) Queens-based artists, ends 17 Jan 2007, so get there while you can, if you can.
