As I write this blog post I’m listening – again – to the playlist below I compiled, of songs by musicians who passed away in 2017. I’m certain the playlist is incomplete, and therefore if you know of someone who should be included don’t hesitate to leave a comment below. The playlist was compiled based on blogs by the NYTimes<\/a> and Ranker<\/a>. The order of the songs was originally intended to be listed in ascending order from January to December corresponding to the death date of the musician; at some point that got a little off so some songs might be slightly out of sequence. Many – many – of the songs are by artists whose names I can’t say I ever heard before (Tommy Keene, Montgomery Gentry, etc.); this ignorance also lead to some interesting discoveries, like Lil Peep who I was unaware of and, yeah, that’s an interesting artist even if you don’t like his music – it’s a shame he passed so young, but that’s kind of the point, right? <\/p>\n
