Science-fiction author Bruce Sterling wrote those words in “We See Things Differently,” published in 1992’s Globalhead<\/a><\/em> which I just happened to be reading yesterday; meanwhile, a topic of societal non-fiction was Michael Sam’s self-outing as a gay (and Black – gasp!) football player destined to play in the NFL.<\/p>\n

Ironically, Sterling’s “fiction” is blatantly reflected in whiplash comments by the Republican right’s base.<\/p>\n
