some of you may be aware of this freak blackout in Queens. such a strange phenomenon. some of it works, most of it doesn’t. one outlet (of three) in my studio is working; the overhead light switch is temperable. tomorrow is the sixth day. up until tonight oddly enough i was house-sitting in Manhattan! so i haven’t been too bothered by this, but now that i’m here i can only comment that this is total bollocks!

the area around me is flooded by these OEM machines and NYPD mobile light stands, loudspeakers, and generators of varrying sizes and colors even. i can’t help but think of where this stuff is stored, how it finds its purpose during these aberrant hours, and how it’s all kept track of, logistically speaking. pretty cool, but also pretty weird.

these machines are outfitted for all types of jobs
blackout outside
the view outside our gallery window; that’s Sunnyside Gardens off to the south, no lights, very unusual.
X marks the spot
green X is approximately where i’m located

oddly enough, our internet is still online!! LONG LIVE THE BLOG!
