Normal Space is pleased to present this new work by Cassie Thornton, featuring photographs, a podcast, and a sculpture so large it can’t fit through the door – it can only be made on-site inside the studio! Nick Normal will live with this work for at least three weeks inside his bedroom-loft-garden-studio, while the buzz in the city will be art fairs art fairs art fairs, and the Flux Factory gears up for what is being termed the Final Showdown.

Cassie Thornton @ Normal Space, Thursday 20 March 2008, 8pm

In the sunless winter of rural Finland, Cassie Thornton embarked on a quest for personal corporate acknowledgment and support. After her laptop broke, she opened renegade Apple franchises in abandoned forest real estate — capitalizing on the underwhelmed cultural landscape of the Scandinavian forest. This March, in the gallery/bedroom of artist Nick Normal, witness the conclusion of Thornton’s audio/visual journey with the grand opening of a commemorative five foot version of the technomiraculous 5th Avenue Apple store, and the unveiling of an earth-shattering technology that hopes to revolutionize all other Apple products.
