I think I’d roll with the Bowery Boys, whose “activities” including volunteer firefighting and supporting nativist causes! When not brawling with the Dead Rabbits that is.

Sounds to me like the Hudson Dusters was the gang to be in. All they do is party, and they’ve got the coolest names.
