Ever wonder why Google employees are so happy? Check out their workplace:
Note the faux books-on-shelves wallpaper; the daycare center; slides; pods and places of relaxation; game rooms; fire pole; and of course big screens and dual-monitors. Now if every workplace were only so employee-conscious.
Google’s G1 Android is effing slick. Comes with Street View built in to navigate the world’s maps from the ground level. Here’s the building I’m currently living in!
picture has been uploaded to my flickr and geotagged. Now there’s an image of my google street view inside of Yahoo! maps. how Meta.
Doing plenty of site maintenance today (what with the new theme and all ), and while browsing through some stats data I noticed a large number of hits for one image in particular. Bit strange I thought. Browsed some of the sites that were linking to this particular image when I noticed one of the sites in particular was using some google image search widget.
Not even the best photo of me jowling to be honest. I’ve done better, but I guess it gets good hits because of my evening outfit.
The photo of Stefany jowling that I took is also the 6th result at this time. The other photos I took don’t even appear in the first 10 pages of results (I got bored to click any further).
(all of this meta will eventually blow up when google starts image caching the image of my search results of me jowling – how’s that for a mind-bender?)
great little nifty new feature I just noticed in Google Maps: when you type in the location of the place you’re looking for, roll over the ‘More…’ link in the top-right of the map and you’ll get a tick box option for ‘Wikipedia’. click that and you’ll get a Wikipedia W-logo overlay for all entries in that area. Amazing!
