For all the tragedy surrounding Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 the one thing no one has bothered to mention is how the flight simulator was obviously a PC, and the pilot clearly an accomplished modder and builder. When the flight simulator surfaced the knee-jerk reaction was ‘terrorist simulator’ but it was pretty clear no one would go to such lengths to gain employment, have a family, build a simulator, to hijack a plane. The simulator is a sophisticated multi-channel rig with what looks like multiple PC towers (one appears to be Lian-Li) and control mechanisms – frankly the kind of thing you can only assemble with a PC these days, likely Windows. Captain was clearly a family man with no ill-intent, and put a lot of love into his technology.
