And memorials like this one by Robyn Hasty of Brooklyn remind us of the death in LIC, Queens, of a foreign exchange language student killed after being in NYC for just a few short months. Killed when a Serve & Protect squad car ran him over, reportedly without any lights or sirens on because they wanted to “creep” up on a knife-wielding suspect.
