my old high school buddy Anne Simmons made a visit to the five boroughs yesterday. I got to know Anne while attending Central Visual & Performing Arts High School in north St. Louis. Anne was in visiting from Providence, and oddly enough she’ll be moving back to the STL soon to take a year out before going back to graduate school hopefully. we contemplated our departure from the Midwest, others still remaining there, and our slavery dedication to not-for-profit work. This shot comes from a roundtrip boat journey on the Staten Island Ferry. The original photo was too dark on our person; I took another later that was much better, but we preferred the shot with the Manhattan skyline in the background, so this is a mish-mash of the two.
