A visit to @PioneerWorks_ in Red Hook, Brooklyn: high art, local art, art art everywhere art

The slideshow below will give you a glimpse of the layers of art on view at Pioneer Works, from wheatpaste graffiti on the perimeter, to artists studios on the top floors, to a sprawling main gallery showcasing world-renowned artists, and the current habitat of Clocktower (recently evicted from their Lower Manhattan space after 40 years in operation there), among other residents and platforms there.

After nearly a year of trying to get there, I finally got there earlier this month, will be there again tomorrow for Software For Artists Day, and they’re hosting another event next Thursday to launch an artists residency in the Rockaways — when it rains it pours. Pun intended, being November, it was a rainy & overcast day there when I visited:
