upgrade and conquer!

standard blog post procedure here: the next 48 hours will see a guaranteed 20 minute downtime plus some occasional glitching while I upgrade the server I’m hosted on and upgrade some software, notably WordPress, which runs this blog. The upgrade will literally cost double what I’m paying now, but will allow me increased storage from 2 Gigs to 100 Gigs. yeah. and increased bandwith from 30 Gigs to, you guessed it, a terabyte! I have some plans for my series of tubes!

but perhaps more important than pure storage and bandwith numbers the upgrade will get me access to some much-needed backend software, like MySQL 4.1.11 (currently on 3.23) and therefore allow me to upgrade WordPress and finally implement some new elements on the blog, over time. Stay tuned, ye faithful!
